Salsa Rica Dance Company

Salsa Rica Amateur Team

Salsa Rica Dance Company was started in 2001 by Alberta’s best Salsa dancers as a collective effort to represent Salsa in Canada. Today Salsa Rica continues to produce the top Salsa Dancers in Canada through their performance groups ranging from student level, to their internationally touring Company.
Directed by So You Think You Can Dance CANADA choreographers, and Dancing with the Stars Calgary Tour dancers Eric Caty and Kelly Lannan, the company trains with the world's best Salsa trainers in Puerto Rico, Miami, Los Angeles, and New York, and performs and teaches at international Salsa festivals all over North America.
Salsa Rica has been invited to perform in Puerto Rico at their Salsa Festival, in Los Angeles at the World Salsa Congress, and many members have won the right to represent Canada at the World Championships of Salsa — the World Latin Dance Cup in Las Vegas.
Directors Eric and Kelly are currently ranked 4th in the world, being the top North American couple in the World. With David Joseph of Dando Dance Company, Salsa Rica produces the Calgary International Salsa Congress, bringing top Salsa professionals to Canada to perform, instruct, and lecture at this weekend long annual event. Eric and Kelly spend 20 weeks each year travelling the world to represent Canadian talent with their performances, choreography, and instruction. Their company gives local professional and amateur dancers the ability to train and perform at a world class level for Salsa in Canada.
Alberta Dancesport, Salsa Rica’s social branch, is currently Calgary’s best place to dance Salsa, and the Ballroom dances. Each week hundreds of dancers flock to the schools popular classes.
Salsa Rica Productions aims to elevate the status of Salsa and Ballroom dance in Canada through its classes and events, to make world class trainers and choreographers in the genre available to dancers in Canada, and to shine an international spotlight in Canada through their annual Salsa Congress. The dancers of Salsa Rica represent the vibrant and talented artistic community of Canada in a genre popular in many of the World's countries.
